WILDRICE HOUSE CONCERTS JULY NEWSLETTER
Hello everyone, As we continue our summer hiatus and reorganize for fall, we thought it important to provide you with a status report. First, please join us in thanking Bruce and Maria Bragioner for their more than nine years of hosting the series in their lovely home by the bay. While we will all miss the beautiful surroundings and gracious hosts we wish them well as they take a break and move on to new endeavors with their young family.

Concerts will continue in a variety of locations, with types of artists (groups, singles, loud, quiet, etc. dictating where. For example, Tony Castaneda and the Latin Jazz group will play at the Rail House Restaurant on August 12, their great Latin jazz sounds will fill the space nicely and we'll leave a little room for dancing. The Rail House banquet hall is smoke free and separated from the bar and dining areas. The newly added outside deck, lounge and dining area will be a great place for dinner and drinks before or a fresh air break during the intermission.

On September 17th we will be hosting Jazz Spectrum at the Lauerman Guest House Inn. This venue is also smoke free and provides just the right atmosphere for softer, gentler jazz.
Our agreements with these great places allow us to continue providing the artists with 100% of all ticket sales revenue and make it easy to control access to the concert. Both places provide dinner specials before the concerts and drinks at intermission.

We will also be using the Serving Spoon from time to time and others have offered home venues (for smaller groups). If you are interested or have suggestions for other places, please call Nancy Douglas (715) 735-8050 days or (906) 864-2201 at other times. Nancy also coordinates bookings so let her know of artist suggestions, etc.

With August and September booked, we are looking to firm up October, November and December dates, with several things in the works. Rumor has it that Robin Nolan will be back in the area this fall and we're hoping to woo Nicolas Gunn back from California. The music committee will be reviewing CD's from other artists as well. Watch this web site for advance notice or postcards for actual concerts if you rely on the U.S. mail.

Thanks so much for your support of this unique community music opportunity!
