Wild Rice Concerts presents:Shelley Rae Korntved
Shelley Rae has been singing since she was 2 years old.
At 10 years old she began writing songs and playing guitar. By 16 years old she was playing professionally with venues ranging from Coffee Shops and Clubs to Festivals and private gatherings. Her musical focus has always been to use voice and instrument to execute positive change. Influenced by the great songwriters of the 60's and 70's, her music touches on social and political issues, love and family. Diverse inspiration came from Bob Marley and the Wailers, Joni Mitchell, Ricki Lee Jones, Neil Young, Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac, Indigo Girls and more recently Ani DiFranco. Her edgy folk guitar style compliments a strong, clear voice. She sings from her heart and writes to teach compassion and promote action against injustice. Her harder-hitting lyrics voice her discontent with the state of affairs in our country and world, and are then tempered with songs expressing her deep love and affection for family, friends and children and the hope that our world will evolve into a place of peace and prosperity for all.
