Neptune Quartet- This group features Don Julin on mandolin, Crispin Campbell on cello, Angelo Meli on guitar, Glenn Wolff on bass. The Neptune Quartet blends chamber music with blues, gypsy, tango, bossa nova, and americana to create very unique sonic images.

Don has been part of the Northern Michigan music scene as a musician and recording engineer since 1982. Don has played on more than a dozen cds ranging in style from folk to gospel to jazz to avant garde. In 1998 he recorded a cd with "Big Swifty & Associates" entitled "Wouldn't you rather...." An Acoustic, Zappaesque,Bistro ensemble that could stretch from Tchakovsky to Lo' Rider. He followed that with the 1999 release of "Brite Lites Big Insects", a collaboration with bassist Glenn Wolff, with guest apearences of Northern Michigan's finest players His most recent recording "Mr. Natural" is a collection of jazz standards featuring Ron Getz, Dave Hay, Dave Wall, and Glenn Wolff. He has also been selected to appear on two compilation cds, “New Horizons” a collection of Northern Michigan songwriters and “Comando Vol 2” an international compilation of mandolin music.
As a recording engineer, he has recorded "live" concerts of many artists including Leo Kottke, Dave Brubeck, and the Turtle Island String Quartet. Don recorded and mixed Greg Brown's cd "The Live One" recorded live at JR's Warehouse in Traverse City Mi.

In April of 2000, Don travelled to Europe with the trio "Bourcier, Julin & Wolff" to perform in the beautiful and historic Tuscany region of Italy. He has attended mandolin master classes by Evan Marshall, Caterina Lichtenberg, Mike Marshall, Simon Mayer, and the late Jethro Burns. Don is a current member of the Classical Mandolin Society of America and performed in the En Masse Mandolin Orchestra in Minneapolis in November 1999.
